I don’t like to hurt my battery as using laptop. How should i use it?

I recently got a Toshiba A505 laptop computer with Windows 7. It has a 12 cell battery(6 hours and 30 minutes). How can I increase the battery life??

Also, is it good to use the laptop without the battery, and with the charger plugged in?

This problem started happening recently. Every time I unplug my laptop to use it, the expectancy on it goes lower and lower every time, where its at about 30 minutes now, compared to 90 minutes about a year ago. Also, it seems to decrease a minute or so every time I recharge and unplug it. I already recalibrated the battery, but it doesn’t seem to have made a difference. Do I need a new laptop battery or could there be something worse? Thanks

I heard a lot of different methods for protecting & preserving the life of a lithium ion battery (Laptop & iPhone) Should I empty them completely & then charge them to 100% or keep them fully charged whenever I can? As for the laptop, do I work with it while plugged or do I empty the battery & recharge it?

live.pirillo.com – Mitch Bartlett has written in several times before with tips and tricks. They are always excellent advice. This time, he is giving me a few pointers about extending the life of my battery in my laptop. I wanted to share these with you.

I read that you should never let the in a lithium ion battery drain to 0 percent. You should only let it drain and charge it back up once a month.

Also, lithium ion has no memory effect so i should be able to charge it whenever i want, (however you must not let it reach a very low percent.) so for example if its at 40 percent i can just hook up the charger and let it charge.

But can I leave my laptop charging while im using it even though its at 100 percent? Does it overcharge or does it automatically stop charging once it reaches full…

(whenever Im using my laptop in a stationary position like in my room for hours uopn hours i just drain to battery to 40 percent, take it out and store it in a cool location)

how long does the battery last before it has to be charged again and does it vary from one laptop to the next?
if so how’s the battery life if u get the standard battery on an hp pavilion (im looking into the dv5z series)

also if anybody can give me any pointers on how to maximize battery life and prevent losing battery life as the battery gets older, it would be appreciated
